Baby # 2 on the way!

Some might say that we are crazy, some might even say that we are insane or out of our mind. As for us we are not sure what to say. We are in shock. Baby number 2 will be joining us the end of May. That means that Derick is going to be an older brother at the ripe old age of 13 months. We are excited and terrified the same time. Heavenly Father has his hands in all things and knows what he is doing. I might not know what I am doing but he dose.
I must say that I have been so blessed this pregnancy and have not been sick. I was so sick for the first 5 months with Derick. But I have not even thrown up once or really even felt like it. Yes I have been tired but I probably would be tired even if i were not expecting. I think being tired goes with the job of being a mom. I don't know how I would have taken care of Derick if I would have been sick. I am so thankful for my health.
We don't know the sex of the baby. I go to the doctor on the 26th of this month and if we want to find out then we can. Russell wants to know but I am not sure that I do. If we have another little boy then we will not have to buy to much because he can wear all of Derick's stuff. But if it's a girl than we have nothing. So we are trying to decide if we want to be surprised again or not.
I guess the Lord is helping us make up for last time. This will be an adventure for sure.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning we got up and opened our presents. We normally do this on Christmas day but we were flying to France on Christmas day. So we waited for Derick to Finley wake up.It seemed like it took him forever. Russell and I were so excited to see what he would do. After he woke up we took him into the living room were there were some matchbox cars and animals waiting for him. He would have been happy with one matchbox car. He turned the car over right away and just spun the wheels over and over again. So Russell Finlay took them away form him so that he would open some presents. It was fun to watch.
After a few presents he was done and really did not care anymore. That is when he thought it would be fun to climb on the presents rather then open them. I kept thinking that we had not gotten him enough but he really cashed in. He got to many thanks to the grandparents and Lindsey's help.

Russell stood him up behind his little walker wagon and he was not sure what to think. It made him take off pretty fast.

After we were done opening presents at home we headed off to Grand Island to spend the day with family. It was a lot of fun. Lindsey and I always pull and prank on someone in the family for Christmas. This year the target was Tanner and Logan. We knew that Santa was coming so we arranged for Santa to bring Tanner and Logan a drum set. The joke behind that is they always play rock band and they even hold band practices for it. So Santa shows up with presents for all the little grand kids and a drum set for Tanner and Logan. It was pretty funny.
We pull names in our family and Russell got Josephs name. ( Joseph is Dallas and Shannon's little boy who is almost 3) Russell had to get him the nosiest toys that he could find. It was great. He got him and cork gun and a chain saw. The sound was driving everyone nuts and then add to that was Tanner and Logan's drum set. Needless to say I am gland that we had to leave and go see Russell's family.

It was so fun for Santa to come. I was sad because I was not sure that Derick would get any pictures with Santa this year. Thanks so much Shannon and Dallas for getting Santa to come to the house.

Derick's Christmas outfit

As many of you may know if you have a son it is very hard to find cut cloths. I looked all over for a Christmas outfit for Derick and did not have any luck. I was so frustrated. I was so afraid that he was going to look like a little orphan. Shopping just made the frustration level that much worse. I could find so many little girl things but nothing for little boys. Do they think that little boys don't go to church or something. We live in a pretty small town so there is not much to choose from. But I even tried on line and did not have much luck. But his Christmas outfit turned out pretty cut. Abbi had sent me some cloths so we used a vest of hers and then Derick already had a pair of pants that he was about ready to grow out of but we made them work. He ended up looking pretty cute.
